Nigel Slater's "Real Food"

Cooking meals that are easy to prepare with big flavor and fresh ingredients, are what Nigel Slater calls "real food". Nigel cuts through pretension and mystique with practical guidance, wit, and humor. Joined by Nigella Lawson of Style Network's Nigella Bites; Peter Gordon, Chef, The Sugar Club, London; Rowley Leigh, Chef, Launceston Place; Alastair Little of Alastair Little Restaurants and Paul Heathcote of Paul Heathcote's Restaurants.

Nigel is the food editor of The Observer, and one of Britain's best-selling food writers, described by one national newspaper as "a schoolboy voluptuary, and unashamed spoonlicker". He learned to cook during an apprenticeship at some of the country's leading restaurant and food shopping before settling in London as Food Editor of Marie Claire Magazine, where his distinctive writing and photographic styling gained him his first Glenfiddich Award in 1989. He left in 1983 to take up his current position on The Observer.

Nigel is also Contributing Editor to Sainsbury's Magazine, and a regular contributor to Harpers & Queen, and Food Illustrated. His best-selling books include Real Fast Food, Real Fast Puddings, The 30-minute Cook, Real Good Food and Real Cooking. His latest, Nigel Slater's Real Food written to accompany this series is another best-seller, reaching number one in the Bookwatch charts.
